VPN Benefit Terms (Yearly Plans)
Effective date: August 11, 2026
Last updated: August 11, 2026
These VPN Benefit Terms ("VPN Terms") govern the VPN service benefit included with eligible Truee yearly subscription plans. They form part of, and are incorporated into, our Terms & Conditions. "Truee," "we," and "us" mean the operator of Truee.
1. What the Benefit Is
Eligible yearly Truee subscription plans include access to a virtual private network (VPN) service operated by our third-party partner, a third-party VPN provider (the "VPN Partner" or "Partner").
Key points:
- The VPN benefit is available only on eligible yearly plans. It is not available on monthly plans, free tiers, or trials, unless a specific promotion's terms state otherwise.
- The VPN is provided by the Partner, not by Truee. Truee does not operate the VPN servers or network.
- The benefit is a bundled inclusion of your Truee subscription. It has no standalone price, no cash value, and is non-transferable.
2. Activation
2.1 After purchasing an eligible yearly plan, you can activate the VPN benefit from your Truee account (via a redemption code, activation link, or provisioned account, as described in-app).
2.2 Activation is optional. If you do not activate it, no information about you is shared with the Partner.
Important: because VPN access is provisioned through a third party and cannot be reversed, once you use your VPN redemption code, your yearly plan is no longer eligible for a refund, except where a refund is required by law or under the limited exceptions in our Refund & Cancellation Policy (Section 6). You will be reminded of this before activation.
2.3 To provision access, we share the minimum data needed with the Partner (for example, your email address or a redemption identifier), as described in our Privacy Policy.
2.4 During activation you will be asked to accept the Partner's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Your use of the VPN is governed by those documents in addition to these VPN Terms. If you do not accept the Partner's terms, you cannot use the VPN benefit (this does not affect your Truee subscription otherwise).
3. Relationship Between Truee and the Partner
3.1 Independent services. Truee and the Partner are independent companies. Each is responsible for its own service: Truee for the scam-detection Service, the Partner for the VPN.
3.2 VPN traffic and privacy. Truee does not receive, collect, log, or store your VPN connection logs, browsing activity, or traffic data. Any data generated by your use of the VPN is handled solely by the Partner under its privacy policy. Statements the Partner makes about its logging practices (e.g., "no-logs") are the Partner's statements, not Truee's.
3.3 Support. First-line questions about accessing or redeeming the benefit: support@truee.ai. Technical issues with the VPN itself (connectivity, apps, servers) are handled by the Partner's support channels, which we can help direct you to.
4. Duration, Changes, and Termination of the Benefit
4.1 Tied to your subscription. VPN access lasts only while your eligible yearly Truee subscription is active and paid. The benefit ends automatically when your yearly subscription:
- expires after cancellation;
- is refunded (in whole or pro-rata) - deactivation is immediate upon refund approval;
- is downgraded to a monthly plan or an ineligible plan;
- is suspended or terminated for breach of our Terms or this benefit's rules.
4.2 Changes to the benefit. We may modify the VPN benefit or replace the Partner with a comparable VPN provider, with reasonable advance notice. A change of provider is not a material reduction of your plan where the replacement offers materially comparable core functionality.
4.3 Discontinuation. If we permanently discontinue the VPN benefit mid-term for yearly subscribers without a comparable replacement, Section 6.6 of the Terms and Section 4.4 of the Refund & Cancellation Policy apply (pro-rata remedy for the affected portion, in accordance with applicable law).
4.4 Partner-side termination. The Partner may suspend or terminate your VPN access under its own terms (for example, for abuse of its network). Truee is not responsible for such decisions, though we will assist in reasonable escalation where the suspension appears to be in error.
5. Acceptable Use of the VPN
You must use the VPN only for lawful purposes and in compliance with:
- our Acceptable Use Policy;
- the Partner's terms of service and acceptable-use rules; and
- all applicable laws, including those of the jurisdictions from which and to which you connect.
Prohibited uses include (without limitation): unlawful access to systems or data, distribution of malware, copyright infringement, fraud, harassment, circumvention of sanctions or export controls, and any activity illegal in your jurisdiction. Using a VPN does not make unlawful activity lawful. Some countries restrict or prohibit VPN use; you are responsible for knowing and complying with your local law.
6. Availability and Disclaimers
6.1 VPN availability, speed, server locations, and features are determined by the Partner and may change at any time.
6.2 TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRUEE PROVIDES THE VPN BENEFIT "AS IS" AND MAKES NO WARRANTIES REGARDING THE VPN'S AVAILABILITY, PERFORMANCE, SECURITY, ANONYMITY, OR FITNESS FOR ANY PURPOSE, AND IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF THE PARTNER. THE LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY IN SECTION 12 OF THE TERMS APPLY. NOTHING IN THESE VPN TERMS EXCLUDES RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE CONSUMER LAW.
6.3 A VPN improves privacy in transit but does not make you anonymous or invulnerable. Do not rely on the VPN as your sole security measure.
7. Changes to These VPN Terms
We may update these VPN Terms in accordance with Section 15 of the Terms (advance notice for material changes).
